At our urgent care clinic, we also provide physicals for work or sports, flu shots, drug screenings, X-Ray services, as well as STD testing for patients who may have contracted sexually-transmitted diseases. Contact or visit one of our clinics today for care!

URGENT CARE

Situations that require Urgent Care but not ER Care:

  • Taking X-rays and providing splints for certain fractures, strains, sprains, or other injuries
  • Diagnosing and treating viral and bacterial infections: colds, ear infections, sinus infections, the flu, and urinary tract infections
  • Repairing lacerations with stitches
  • Abscesses
  • Abdominal Pain
  • Allergies
  • Headaches

If the doctors at WesTex Urgent Care determine that a patient requires care beyond what is recommended at our facility, they will refer the patient to the emergency room or a specialist, depending on the patient’s symptoms.

EMERGENCY ROOM

We advise you to go to the ER if you have a serious, life-threatening illness or injury that needs specialized medical attention. Some of the main differences between an urgent care center and ER include:

  • ER care is more advanced for more serious conditions: heart attacks, trauma, chest pain, poisoning, coughing up or vomiting blood, severe wounds and amputations, suicidal and homicidal feelings, etc.
  • ER care comes with higher bills and co-pays for insurance patients. Some insurance companies may not even pay for non-emergent conditions.
  • ERs require facility fees.

If you’re not sure whether your condition can be treated by urgent care or at the ER, call us now for further assistance.
