ASTHMA

BREATHING MADE EASIER

Although asthma often develops early in young children, adults can also develop this common medical condition later in life. The cause of asthma is unknown, but there are triggers that could worsen the condition, such as colds, stress, and physical activity. This condition that occurs when the airways swell and/or produce extra mucus can be maintained, but some people may experience life-threatening asthma attacks that require proper treatment. When it comes to your or your child’s asthma, don’t take any chances.

WesTex Urgent Care provides asthma treatment for patients of all ages. When a patient comes into the facility with asthma symptoms, we will begin by verifying that the symptoms are related to the individual’s asthma. Some common symptoms include shortness of breath, wheezing, chest pain, or tightness in the chest, to name a few.

If the patient is experiencing an acute asthma attack, the doctor may prescribe a quick-acting rescue medication to improve their breathing. Depending on the situation, Dr. Beck may also prescribe other medications that the patient can use at home to control future symptoms.

If our medical professionals determine that the patient’s asthma symptoms are worse because of another underlying condition, such as allergies or a cold, we may offer treatment for these ailments as well.
