Description
· Greet and triage patients; obtain and record vital signs, medical history, and patient symptoms.
· Show patients to exam rooms and prepare them to see practitioners, including explaining procedures.
· Assist providers during examinations and treatments; assist with medication administration and injections as directed.
· Perform basic lab tests and sample analysis, including venipuncture, starting IVs, urinalysis, and drug screens.
· Collect lab specimens and conduct basic lab tests.
· Perform diagnostic tests including eye exams, EKG’s, cardiac monitoring, oxygen equipment, pulse ox, peak flow and inhalation treatment equipment.
· Operate and/or assist with medical equipment in compliance with Radiation Safety Procedures.
· Verify and update patient information in electronic medical records.
· Prepare and clean exam rooms before and after patient visits.
· Educate patients on medications, treatments, and self-care procedures.
· Deliver post-exam instructions to patients and perform follow-ups as needed.
· Document all information appropriately in patient charts.
· Escort or transport patients by wheelchair or stretcher as needed.
· Assist patients at Check in when needed.
· This position will require training in X-Ray procedures.
· Able to perform other duties as needed.
Requirements
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Graduate of accredited program for Medical Assistant, Licensed Vocational Nurse, Emergency Medical Technician, Certified Nursing Assistant or Phlebotomist if preferred.
· Prior experience is preferred.
· Ability to accurately read and write medical terminology.
· Proficient computer skills, experience with electronic medical records preferred.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Detail-oriented with excellent interpersonal communication skills.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
· Willingness to work all shifts, including weekends and/or holidays when needed.
· Compassionate and professional demeanor with patients and team members.
· BLS certification.
· NCT License is preferred.
Description
The Receptionist will be responsible for all aspects of daily clerical and organizational tasks. The Receptionist will greet visitors; answer incoming calls; schedule information; support the staff, outside callers, and visitors; and other administrative tasks as necessary.
Essential Duties:
· Greeting and checking in patients accurately and efficiently including collecting co-pays and obtaining registration information.
· Protect patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information.
· Coordinating patient flow and managing the patient lobby area.
· Answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, and responding to patient inquiries.
· Collaborating with healthcare providers to ensure seamless patient care.
· Maintaining a clean and organized front-desk environment.
· Maintain the display of the United States flag according to federal rules.
Requirements
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.
· Ability to work at least 2 weekends every month.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and electronic medical record systems.
· 2+ years of experience in a customer-centric role preferred.
· BLS certification preferred.
· Familiarity with or ability to understand insurance summary data preferred.
Description
At Westex Urgent Care, our Providers focus on episodic treatment of acute illnesses and injuries. We have a CLIA-waived lab and full-scope digital x-rays. Providers meet, assess, and diagnose patients in our clinic and provide them with healthcare services that meet state and national standards for caregiving. Essential Functions
· Examine patients (6 months and older), obtain and document accurate medical history, address patients' concerns, and answer patients' questions.
· Prescribe pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens to treat identified medical conditions.
· Discuss potential side effects of medication/treatment with patients and ensure that all allergy information is up to date before prescribing medication/treatment.
· Perform any minor procedures necessary for patient management, including but not limited to, suturing, incision and drainage, foreign body removal, etc.
· Provide advice to patients for lifestyle and diet changes that may improve their health or help to treat the health issue they are experiencing.
· Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all federal and state health information privacy laws.
· Complete patients' charts and information to reflect current findings and treatments.
Marginal Functions
· Accurately complete all medical records in a timely manner.
· Adhere to ongoing quality improvement objectives and safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
Qualifications
· Master’s Degree from an Accredited University
· Licensed as Advance Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) OR Physician Assistant (PA)
· Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner OR Board-Certified Physician's Assistant
· Current Texas State License
· 1+ years’ experience in Urgent Care preferred
· 1+ years’ experience as Single Provider preferred
· Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advance Life Support (ACLS) certified preferred.
